On December 6, 2024, the Society for the Analysis of Government and Economics (SAGE) hosted an online lecture entitled "Local Governments and Regional Economic Development." This lecture was presented by Shi Jinchuan, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts at Zhejiang University and Deputy Director of the Consulting Committee of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. The webinar represented the fifteenth installment in SAGE's Lectures in Government and Economics Series.

Speaker Bio:


Shi Jinchuan holds a Ph.D. in Economics and currently serves in the roles of Senior Professor of Liberal Arts at Zhejiang University and Director of the university's Academic Advisory Committee for Liberal Arts. He was awarded with the Zhang Peigang Development Economics Award in 2006 during the award’s inaugural year, in addition to winning 12 provincial and ministerial-level awards, including the Distinguished Social Science Research Award and Scientific and Technological Progress Award. In 2009, Dr. Shi was selected to join the list of “100 Economists Influencing the Economic Construction of New China,” and in 2014, he was selected as a leading talent in the national “Ten Thousand Talents Program” in the field of philosophy and social sciences.
