English Abstract: 

As an important factor affecting residents' consumption, the consumption environment plays an increasingly prominent role in releasing residents' consumption potential, and expanding residents' consumption. On the basis of explaining the specific connotation of residents' consumption environment, this paper constructs an evaluation index system of residents' consumption environment including five secondary indicators. At the same time, multiple weighting models are comprehensively used to determine the weight of 16 tertiary indicators, and the evaluation index of residents' consumption environment in China from 1998 to 2020 and the evaluation index of residents' consumption environment in 31 provinces from 2008 to 2020 are calculated. The research shows that the general consumption environment of Chinese residents is gradually improving, and the consumption economic environment, consumption policy and institutional environment, consumption infrastructure environment, consumption supply environment, and consumption cultural environment have been significantly optimized. However, the consumption environment of residents in each province is still quite different. The consumption environment of residents in the east is relatively better. In the future, optimizing the consumption environment of our residents should focus on optimizing the consumption policy and institutional environment, and consumption supply environment.
