ACCEPT Holds Symposium on Sustainability and Urban Mobility Solutions Under a Carbon Neutral Vision

On April 1, the Tsinghua University Academic Center for Chinese Economic Practice and Thinking (ACCEPT) held a closed-door symposium on the theme of Sustainability and Urban Mobility Solutions Under a Carbon Neutral Vision.”

Participants included Li Zheng, Executive Vice President of the Tsinghua University Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development (ICCSD); Dong Yang, Vice President of China EV100; Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM); Guo Jifu, Director of the Beijing Transport Institute; Jing Ulrich, Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Global Banking and the Asia Pacific at JPMorgan Chase;Nicolas Peter, CFO of BMW AG;Jochen Goller, President and CEO of BMW Group Region China; Ma Leju, Senior Director of International Affairs at DiDi Chuxing, and other guests and leaders of relevant departments. ACCEPT’s Director, David Daokui Li, and Executive Deputy Director, Li Ke’aobo, attended and hosted the meeting.

During the symposium, the guests engaged in in-depth exchange and discussion on the topics of sustainable development, China’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, and sustainable urban transportation. They also shared their insights on green mobility industrial chains, urban planning and infrastructure construction, and new energy vehicle industry analysis and user habits.

Director David Daokui Li said that carbon neutrality is a common global goal, and China, as an important global economy, is making every effort to accomplish its development goals of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2060. In this process, the sustainable development of urban mobility is crucial and requires the joint efforts of all parties in the industrial chain to work together toward achieving green, smart mobility for the future.
